22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.25 But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it–he will be blessed in what he does.
26 If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless.27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. (James 1:19-27, NIV)

Great verse. Too often it seems that we (meaning Americans in General) only apply "verses" so that they are applicable to our lives, even if it takes the verses "out of context". v22-25 definitely hits that point. If you get a chance, check out "Radical: Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream" by David Platt. It is definitely a great book that makes you open your eyes (and if they were already open, it opens them wider). Keep up the good work Bud.
