As Children
Have you ever watched two children share a toy that both want to play with. Sometimes it can be entertaining, but it usually ends up with one of the children getting their feelings hurt. This is a common occurance in young children. The sad thing is when adults still act the same way. They fight over parking spaces, toys at Christmas, and they even fight over children when they get divorced.
In these instances we need to have the following verse in our memory.
11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
(1 Corinthians 13:11-12, NIV)
Fighting and arguing over anything will never solve the problems that plague us. Review of the last 100 years will show this, with war after war and no real resolution. Learning from the past is what history is about, not just simply entertaining storys. Let us learn to get along by stepping back and watching the world through the eyes of children.
